Arknights Exusiai / Exia / アークナイツ -エクシア

I made this about a year ago, riding the Arknights hype train.
Most people would know that Maya's default toon shader works pretty alright until you throw in textures. It just turns black on viewport and becomes super unwieldy, hence the start of finding another solution to the problem.
Renders are done on Maya Software.

Arknights EN video contest submission. It was pretty sloppy, felt like I could've done better. Postprocessing was really bad and the shots were really yellow.

Anti-Aliasing issues using Condition node to distinguish between dark and light regions, you can see how harsh the shading is from this screenshot when zoomed in. Mostly that's cause it's either one state or the other, with no room for transition.

Shadeless render with emission, since Sketchfab doesn't support toon shading... and PBR anime models tend to look hella uncanny otherwise.

Vector's design was more complicated than I thought, so it took me quite awhile longer to get it ironed out.
